Update on our Future Sea Level project
Since January the Aquarium of the Bay, our partner in the Future Sea Level project, has been offering a free climate-change class to San Francisco middle- and high-school students.
Aquarium educators will visit San Francisco schools, free of charge, to present a 50-minute lesson on climate change and the reality of rising sea levels. The goal is to inspire action in San Francisco's youth and make them aware that small changes in everyday actions and habits can have a global consequence.
Initiated in 2006, the Future Sea Level project is a collaboration of Aquarium of the Bay Foundation, the Sierra Club's San Francisco Bay Chapter, and the San Francisco Department of the Environment (SF Environment). Along with sharing a way to graphically illustrate the effects of rising sea levels, we hope to inspire Bay Area residents to work together to find solutions.
If you work in one of San Francisco's schools and would like further information about this series of classes, please contact Aquarium of the Bay's education and conservation manager Emily Tozzi at (415) 623-5323 or by email to emilyt -at- aquariumofthebay.com or visit www.futuresealevel.org
