Northern Alameda Group "Green Fridays": "Meet Mr. Green"

Friday, February 13, social hour and potluck dinner - 6 pm, speaker and discussion - 7 pm, Bay Chapter Office, 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley.
The Northern Alameda County Group is pleased to announce an exciting new monthly event called Green Fridays! Beginning in February, on the second Friday of each month, we will be hosting an evening of fun, good conversation, and an interesting speaker. This event will also be a potluck; you are encouraged to bring a healthy snack or dish to share.
For our very first event we are thrilled to have Bob Schildgen (aka Mr. Green) join us for a question and answer session on all things green. Please bring your green-living questions that you have always wanted answered! Perhaps you may have some questions about chocolates and flowers before you remember to pick up that gift for Valentine's Day!
Bob was managing editor and book-review editor of Sierra magazine for many years, and continues to write Sierra's popular "Hey Mr. Green" environmental-advice column. A native of rural Wisconsin, where he grew up on a farm, he now resides in Berkeley, where he indulges his passions for gardening and thrift by growing two dozen types of vegetables in his backyard. Bob is also on the board of the Green Chamber of Commerce.
We hope you are able to attend and make our first event a success! This is a perfect opportunity to socialize and learn more about the Sierra Club and its local activities. To RSVP (appreciated but not required) or for more information about Green Fridays contact Justin Martello at (510) 549-2525 or email to justin -at- effectiveassets.net
