"Exploring Wildlife Parks in Southern Africa"

Wednesday, November 12, 7 pm, Winslow Center, 2590 Pleasant Hill Road (at Taylor Boulevard), Pleasant Hill.

Africa's vanishing wildlife has been a matter of worldwide concern for many years. See these endangered treasures through the lens of award-winning photographer Al Greening at the next general meeting of the Mount Diablo Group.

Al and Marie Greening's four week excursion to Africa included visits to Kruger National Park in South Africa, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The Greenings encountered over 140 species of wild animals and birds. On the cultural side, the Greenings visited Cape Town, the Cape of Good Hope, and Pretoria. They met Nelson Mandela and visited a group of San Bushmen. Don't miss this enthralling armchair tour of Southern Africa.

Al and Marie Greening have traveled widely, photographing all seven continents and a few places in between. Al has won numerous awards for his photography. His pictures have been featured in magazines, books, exhibits, and educational materials. Al has served as a park volunteer at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area since 1985. Currently he leads public programs at the Point Bonita Lighthouse and photography walks in the Marin Headlands.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and no reservations are necessary. For more information, contact or call (925) 686-9393
