East Bay Dinner: "Visions of the High Sierra"

Thursday, March 27, no-host cocktails/social hour - 6 pm, dinner - 7:00, program - 8:00, Berkeley Yacht Club on the Berkeley Marina, one block north of the west end of University Avenue (ample free parking is available in the Marina parking lots).

Please join us for an exciting evening of stunning images shown and discussed by photographer Tony Rowell, son of renowned mountaineer and photographer Galen Rowell. These will include photographs and images taken and produced by three generations of the Rowell family on the John Muir Trail. Tony will also share his photographs of Yosemite, Bishop, and Mount Whitney, as well as his latest astro-photographs taken in the White Mountains and in the eastern Sierra Nevada. Although his photography expeditions have taken him from the Arctic Circle to the mountains of Tibet, his favorite place in the world is still the Eastern Sierra near his home in Bishop.

Tony is the vice president of Mountain Light Photography, serves on the advisory board for the Rowell Fund for Tibet, and is on the advisory committees for the Rowell Award and Restore Hetch Hetchy. Tony's work has been published in books, calendars, and magazines and is on exhibit year round at Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop, and in the Tioga Pass Resort near Yosemite. Many of his photos can be viewed at www.tonyrowell.com

Books, calendars, and fine-art prints will be on display and available for purchase.

Cost of dinner and program is $23, including tax and tip. For a reservation, please send your check, payable to "Sierra Club", with your name, your telephone number, and the names of your guests, to:
