East Bay Dinner
"Three Seasons in Tuscany"
Thursday, February 28, no-host cocktails/social hour - 6:00 pm, dinner - 7:00, program - 8:00, Berkeley Yacht Club on the Berkeley Marina, one block north of
the west end of University Avenue (ample free parking is available in the Marina parking lots).
Join Wes Walker and his wife Marsha in Tuscany, Italy, where they traveled for more than three months - in three different seasons - seeking out rural,
hidden Tuscany. They visited the well-known hilltop villages, but also those hidden away in the rolling countryside and in the valleys cutting into the mountains,
from the Italian Alps in the north, to Mount Amiato in the south. They found not only spectacular scenery and architectural charm but also warm and genuine
people living in an environment seemingly unchanged over the centuries. Wes will share his images of the beauties of both the land and the people.
Wes is a retired trial lawyer, judge, and associate justice of the California Court of Appeal in San Francisco. He is also a mountaineer and a professional
photographer, who escapes with his camera to backpack the Sierra, trek the Himalaya, and travel all over the world. His photographs were first published by the Sierra Club in the
early 1970s and have since been published worldwide in top publications. His three pictorial books are
Hidden Napa Valley, Hidden Sonoma, and the
soon-to-be-released Tuscan Country. He has received the American Graphic Design Award for images appearing in travel brochures on Turkey and South America.
