San Francisco Dinner: "Visions of the High Sierra"
Thursday, January 17, social hour 6 pm, dinner 7, show 8 - City Forest Lodge, 254 Laguna Honda Boulevard, San Francisco (across from Laguna Honda
Hospital and downhill from Forest Hill Station; take Muni's K, L, M, or

Photographer Tony Rowell, son of the late renowned photographer Galen Rowell, will show us stunning images taken by three generations of the Rowell family on
the John Muir Trail. We are fortunate to have him back after seeing his beautiful show for us in May 2004. Tony will also share his own photos of Yosemite, Bishop,
and Mount Whitney as well as his latest astronomy and "astrophotographs" from the White Mountains and Eastern Sierra. These latest photos are extraordinary and
an adventure in themselves.
Tony, whose photography expeditions have taken him from the Arctic Circle to the mountains of Tibet, finds his favorite place in the world is still the
Eastern Sierra near his new home in Bishop. He is the vice president of Mountain Light Photography and serves on the advisory board for the Rowell Fund for Tibet
as well as the advisory committees for the Rowell Award and Restore Hetch Hetchy. Tony's work has been published in books, calendars, and magazines and is
on exhibit year-round at the Mountain Light Gallery and Tioga Pass Resort near Yosmite. Books, calendars, and fine-art prints will be available at our dinner.
