Tri-Valley Group: "An Alternative for Tesla"
Tuesday, December 11, 7:30 pm, Livermore Public Library, 1000 South Livermore Avenue.
Come to a presentation by Celeste Garamendi, a founding member of Friends of Tesla Park.
Celeste will share her group's plan to establish a permanent preserve and low-impact recreational and historical park on the former Tesla Coal Mines site. The
state Department of Parks and Recreation has purchased these nearly 3,000 pristine acres in southeastern Alameda County and plans to add them to a state
vehicular-recreation area. Such use of the land would destroy its historical, biological, and scenic values.
Friends of Tesla Park has developed "An Alternative Plan for Tesla State Park", which Celeste will present. This program is a follow-up to Dan Mosier's
"Historical Tesla" presentation last January.
Following the presentation we will discuss whether the Tri-Valley Group should endorse the alternative plan.
