Marin Group Annual Awards Dinner

Friday, October 5, 6 pm - no-host cocktails; 7 pm - dinner program, Spinnaker Restaurant, 100 Spinnaker Drive, Sausalito.

Please join the Marin Group for a stimulating evening of speakers and awards, with excellent food and wine, at our Annual Awards Dinner.

Our keynote speaker is Jacques Leslie, author of Deep Water: The Epic Struggle Over Dams, Displaced People, and the Environment, who will speak about environmental, social, and political aspects of dams and their effect on communities.

The 2007 Resource Conservation Award goes to Barbara Salzman, president of the Audubon Society of Marin, a founding member of Marin Baylands Advocates, and a highly successful, long-time defender of Bay Area wetlands.

The 2007 Hannah Creighton Environmental Justice Award goes to Katie Crecelius, a founding member of the Marin Environmental Housing Collaborative, chair of the Novato Housing Coalition, and a member of the Marin Housing Leadership Alliance. (Hannah Creighton, the former Marin Group Executive Committee member for whom the award is named, passed away in 1998. She was an editor of the periodical Race, Poverty and the Environment for the Urban Habitat Program. She was always concerned about environmental education and opportunities for those in need.)

Master of ceremonies will be Dick Spotswood, Independent-Journal political columnist.

Ticket information

Advance reservations are required as this event is popular and usually sells out! Regular tickets are $65 per person - including soup, choice of macadamia-nut-encrusted petrale sole, piquant chicken with champagne, or vegetarian lasagna; dessert; and a glass of wine with dinner.

Sponsor tickets are from $100 to $1,000, with multiple seating and special recognition for your generous support of our Group!

• Champion: $1,000 reserves a table for eight, featured in the program, and acknowledgement at the banquet.
• Steward: $500 reserves four tickets, mention in the program, and acknowledgement at the banquet.
• Guardian: $250 reserves two tickets and sponsor's name in the program.
• Protector: $100 reserves one ticket and sponsor's name in the program.
