"The Farallon Islands: San Francisco's Hidden Natural Treasure"

Thursday, October 18, social hour 6:00 pm, dinner 7:00, show 8:00 - City Forest Lodge, 254 Laguna Honda Boulevard, San Francisco (across from Laguna Honda Hospital and downhill from Forest Hill Station; take Muni's K, L, M, or 43). Come early for street parking (no sidewalk parking please).

"These islands are truly California's Galapagos," says Russell Bradley, Farallon Program manager and conservation scientist for the Point Reyes Bird Observatory.

Russ, who lives on the Farallon Islands four months of the year, adds, "When most San Franciscans think of the Farallons they are merely a distant bump on the horizon, rarely visible and largely unknown. But these islands support globally signifcant populations of wildlife - seabirds, marine mammals, and white sharks, all within the city and county of San Francisco."

Russ' presentation will introduce you to the history, wildlife, and ongoing research being conducted on the Farallon Islands. Hopefully you will take away a sense of the wonder and significance of this amazing natural treasure right on our doorstep.

Having seen this presentation we recommend that you make your reservations early for an extraordinary evening.
