Delta Regional Group: "Travels in South America"

A few years ago Delta Group member Janess Hanson shared the highlights of her travels in Brazil. Janess' slide progam tonight continues her journey on the South American continent, through Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Highlights include: the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires; remote Patagonia; the "cruce de lagos" journey across the Andes Mountains through the lakes district of Argentina and Chile, with landscapes ranging from bamboo forests to glaciers and volcanoes; the unique city of Valparaiso, Chile; and finally to Peru, visiting sacred Inca temple sites in the Cuzco area, including world-famous Machu Picchu. Elevations ranged from sea level to 12,000 feet, and landscapes from the barren steppes of Patagonia to the alpine scenery of the Andes and the lush tropical jungles of Peru.

Please join us tonight for a scenic armchair journey through South America, guaranteed to inspire you to plan a vacation adventure of your own this summer. We'll also have time to socialize and munch goodies, and briefly discuss current environmental concerns and upcoming summer activities.

Group program meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday or Wednesday in January, March, May, September and November.
