"Developing Liveable Communities - Defining Urban Growth"Saturday, March 17, 10 am - 1 pm (registration begins at 9:30), North Oakland Senior Center, 5714 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Oakland. Come to an educational public forum organized by ULTRA (Urbanists for a Livable Temescal/Rockridge Area), with the Sierra Club Northern Alameda Group as a co-sponsor. We will try to answer questions about urban growth:
The keynote speaker will be Ted Droettboom of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)/Association of Bay Area Governments/Bay Area Air Quality Management District Joint Policy Committee. Other presenters will include James Corless of MTC and John Holtzclaw of the Sierra Club. The first panel will speak to the big picture, such as global warming, and the second panel will focus on a more local perspective but not on any particular project.
