San Francisco Dinner: "Solitude in the Canadian Rockies"
Thursday, January 18, social hour 6 pm, dinner 7, show 8 - City Forest Lodge, 254 Laguna Honda Boulevard, San Francisco (across from Laguna Honda
Hospital and downhill from Forest Hill Station; take Muni's K, L, M, or
43). Come early for street parking (no sidewalk parking please).
Professional photographer Brandon Andre will share with us his beautiful and inspiring 10-day, 100-mile backpacking trip into a rarely visited remote and pristine
area of Jasper National Park and the Willmore Wilderness in the Canadian Rockies. He will include photographs and information about
getting there by car and ferries via Vancouver Island and the Inside Passage to Bella Coola.
Brandon will share information and photographs about local geology, flora and fauna, and wisdom about travelling safely in grizzly country. He has
backpacked over 1,000 miles in the Sierra, as well as many more miles in numerous national parks and wilderness areas. He teaches photography classes for the
REI Outdoor School in the greater Bay Area. He is also a professional wedding photographer.
Reservations are required for this very unusual and exciting evening (no attendance for program
only). Non-members are welcome. Mail check for $13.50
