Mount Diablo Group
"The Magic of Yellowstone and Grand Teton"
Wednesday, November 8, 7 pm, Winslow Center, 2590 Pleasant Hill Road, Pleasant Hill (corner of Taylor Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road).
Join us at the next general meeting of the Mount Diablo Group for a photographic journey through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks with
ranger-naturalist Dan Ng. Dan will present a slide show and talk spotlighting the natural history of this fascinating region.
Perhaps no other park captures our imagination and wonderment like Yellowstone. This oldest national park, along with its neighbor to the south, Grand Teton,
and surrounding national forests comprise the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, a place where mountains, forests, thermal features, and wildlife abound.
Dan will recount his seven years working in the area and share some of its unique natural history through images and experiences. He will also introduce some of
his wild animal friends, including Buddy and Gus. You'll also learn that without the invention of photography, we might not have national parks at all!
Dan Ng has worked in the National Park Service for over 20 years in Golden Gate, Bryce Canyon, Big Bend, Muir Woods, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National
Parks. Currently he is the district ranger for the Presidio, Fort Point, and Fort Funston sites of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. He is an avid photographer who
will share his colorful images with you during this program.
