Vote Environment 2006

Lena Tam for Alameda City Council

The Sierra Club has endorsed Lena Tam for Alameda City Council.

Lena Tam, a civil engineer with the East Bay Municipal Utility District, is a community activist, a former Alameda County planning commissioner, and currently president of the Alameda Health Care District Board.

She was recruited to run by local Sierra Club members to ensure that a full range of community perspectives is included in planning for Alameda's future. She shares our vision of compact communities close to public transit, schools, health-care facilities, jobs, recreation, and retail opportunities. She will work to incorporate the best sustainable-development management practices into the plans for Alameda Point and other infill development in the city.

The Sierra Club enthusiastically endorses Lena Tam for Alameda City Council.
