Re-elect Abelson and Potter in El Cerrito
The Sierra Club urges El Cerrito voters to re-elect Janet Abelson and Sandy Potter to City Council.
Both Janet and Sandy are strong environmental leaders. They have both supported the creek-restoration projects at Cerrito and Baxter Creeks, voted against
the Busby project in the hills, and supported smart-growth projects such as the transit-oriented developments at the El Cerrito Mill and Lumber site and at the El Cerrito
Plaza. They both have supported a strong county Urban Limit Line.
Janet Abelson has played a special role as a leader on transportation. She has represented El Cerrito on regional transportation agencies, where she has advocated
for mass transit and smart growth. For her work on these issues, Janet was selected by Assemblymember Loni Hancock as "Woman of the Year" for the 14th
Assembly District.
Sandi Potter works for the Regional Water Quality Control Board protecting streams and creeks, and has brought a special expertise to the Council on these concerns.
We need Janet Abelson and Sandi Potter as strong environmental leaders on the El Cerrito City Council.
