Skinner for East Bay Parks Board
The Sierra Club is pleased to endorse Nancy Skinner for director of the East Bay Regional Park District (Ward 1 - mainly Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville, El
Cerrito, Kensington, and Richmond).
Earlier this year the District's Board appointed Nancy to complete the term of Director Jean Siri, who sadly passed away. Nancy is a worthy successor.
Nancy served on the Berkeley City Council at the time when the Sierra Club was opposing the Santa Fe Railroad's proposed commercial development of what is
now the Eastshore State Park. She was a key leader in saving the Berkeley waterfront and getting the land protected as a state park.
Since leaving the Council, Nancy has worked on global-warming issues and was a key leader in getting Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign California's
landmark legislation to help stop global warming.
Nancy is committed to expanding our parks, protecting habitat and wildlife, and working with the Sierra Club on Park District issues. She has already proven
herself a leader at working to make our regional park district the best in the country.
Please vote for Nancy Skinner for East Bay Regional Park District director.
