Lend a hand for the feet of San Francisco
The San Francisco Group urges you to help direct San Francisco to a more sustainable future by volunteering to serve on the city's Pedestrian
Safety Advisory Committee.
The committee advises the Board of Supervisors and every other city agency about the needs of pedestrians, and in particular on the preparation of San
Francisco's Pedestrian Master Plan. Currently the committee has a couple of open at-large seats. The only requirements are to live in San Francisco, to be interested in what
works for pedestrians, and to be approved by the Rules Committee of the Board.
An advisory committee doesn't make policy, but membership gives a special platform for explaining your positions and for asking questions
of speakers and city workers.
A general description of the committee is at www.sfgov.org/site/bdsupvrs_page.asp?id=4718
An old membership list with links to past agendas and minutes is at www.sfgov.org/site/livablestreets_index.asp?id=19509
If you are interested in being appointed, contact Howard Strassner, the San Francisco Group transportation chair and the
environmental representative on the committee, at (415) 661-8786 or ruthow -at- dslextreme.com
