Chapter volunteer-appreciation awards
At the Bay Chapter's Second Annual Volunteer and Donor Appreciation Barbecue, we presented awards to a number of outstanding volunteers, a few of the
many folks who help us each year to win over 80% of the environmental campaigns we take on and help us as the Bay Area to be a beacon of hope for the
environmental movement across the country.
Luba Ross
For six years Luba has worked every single week in the Chapter Office, doing whatever tasks need to be done.
Marge Macris, Bob Solotar, Dick Schneider, and John Rizzo
Marge, Bob, Dick, and John hold top leadership positions in the Chapter - but each of
them goes far beyond their formal roles to
exercise leadership in key conservation campaigns.
Albany Shoreline campaign
This award goes to the entire group of volunteers who have been so giving of their time and effort to protect the Albany Shoreline.
Each gave all they had, and there is no doubt that if it were not for each of the doors that we knocked on and signatures that we gathered, we would not have been able to send such a strong,
convincing message to Albany's City Council.
Interns
Daniel Pennypacker, Becky Peterhansen, James Adams, Brooke Derrick, Mia Orsini, Anna Hill, Ian McDonald, Laiza Millena, and Liz Dow have been our
fabulous interns this year, who undertook a wide range of conservation and organizing projects.
Kristy Woodard and Sister Maria Foraboschi
Kristy and Sister Maria were the first volunteers this year out at the farmers' market to collect handwritten letters to protect open space in Marin. Both are
very enthusiastic and great go-getters, and both are extremely dedicated to protecting the unique character of Marin County.
Dorothy Dorsett, Dorothy Wells, and Marion Winch
The team of Yodeler volunteer proofreaders handles the entire
proofreading of the paper, with skill, reliability, and creativity (see articles, every page of this and
every Yodeler!) Of this team, the two Dorothies and Marion have been volunteering regularly at this crucial task for over a decade.
