Reggie Moore in Antioch
A champion of the environment and open space
The Sierra Club urges you to support Reggie Moore, former Antioch planning commissioner and president of AFSCME (American Federation of State, County
and Municipal Employees) Local 444, who is running for a seat on the Antioch City Council against two developer-friendly incumbents. As a planning commissioner,
Moore advocated slower, smarter growth policies, and was the only commissioner to vote against development on the 2,700 acres of open space in Southeast Antioch
known as Future Urban Area One.
As a community leader, Reggie Moore has been a strong voice in the local fight against the anti-environment, anti-worker policies of Wal-Mart and its expansion
plans for Antioch. Last fall he campaigned against Measure K, the phony Urban Growth Boundary ballot measure promoted by Castle Corporation and Roddy Ranch.
This race will be highly competitive, as developers are certain to pour in thousands of dollars to see their candidates re-elected. Reggie Moore's campaign will be
about local citizens who value protecting our environment and open space coming together and standing up to these special interests.
