San Francisco energy victory within reach
This summer, probably in July, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors should pass Community Choice Energy, a revolutionary plan to build the largest
renewable-energy facility in the world - here in San Francisco.
This campaign is among the Bay Chapter's top priorities. We have been working closely with the Board of Supervisors, the mayor's office, the Public
Utilities Commission, and a host of other community organizations to achieve this goal.
We have worked to gain unanimous support from the Board of Supervisors, financial backing from Mayor Gavin Newsom's office, and the necessary public
pressure to make Community Choice Energy a reality in San Francisco. Once the city is safely launched, we will be working to bring Community Choice to Marin County,
Berkeley, and Oakland as well.
