San Francisco goes solar (and Marin and the East Bay can be next) - an evening with
Adam Werbach
Tuesday, May 9 (changed date), 7 pm, Yosemite Room, third floor, Sierra Club Headquarters, 85 Second Street, San Francisco (near Mission Street, one block
from Montgomery BART station).
The Sierra Club Bay Chapter and San Francisco Group invite you to a special evening with noted environmental leader, former Club president, and current member
of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (PUC), Adam Werbach.
San Francisco is on the verge of creating the largest urban solar facility in the world. Adam will tell us about the city's opportunity to go solar - to generate
enough electricity to power every home in the city, and to take control of our energy future - through the process of Community Choice Aggregation. He'll tell how you can
help lead San Francisco (and then Marin and the East Bay, too) to a clean-energy future.
Learn also about the PUC's huge projects to retrofit our water-delivery system and to dramatically increase San Francisco's energy efficiency, conservation, and
use of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. Hear first-hand about the successes and obstacles in these critical projects and about the Sierra Club's
advocacy for better water conservation and protection of habitat and the Tuolumne River.
The event is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.
