And join us for An Evening with HBO's Bill Maher on Sat., Sep. 10. Tickets for this special live show for the Sierra Club are $50, and can be purchased along with your conference registration, or on their own at www.sierrasummit2005.org

Why Sierra Summit now? With so many powerful forces at work today to divide us, the Sierra Club is committed to create an environmental force and vision that can unite America and our world. As environmentalists we frequently get together in the towns and cities where we live in groups of two or three, sometimes two to three dozen, and occasionally 200 - 300. But we rarely gather by the thousands to share stories and experiences and to build a common language, common bonds, and powerful voice for our shared goals.

That's what Sierra Summit is all about - bringing together thousands of people to create that powerful force, vision, and connectedness.

Won't you join us?

Outings at the Summit

The Bay Chapter and the other Sierra Club chapters in the Bay Area have put together a collection of day outings to be run in conjunction with the upcoming Sierra Club Summit. Whether or not you are planning to attend the Summit, you are welcome to come on these outings and help share in the celebration. The trips include day hikes, city walks, history walks, and work projects at the Presidio. For a list of these outings and to sign up, go to: www.sierrasummit2005.org and click on `Outings'.
