Jack Sudall wins Michener Award
The San Francisco Bay Chapter Activities Committee has presented its annual Dave and Pat Michener Award to Jack Sudall. The presentation was made at the
East Bay Dinner on May 26.
Back in 1948, Jack was among the founders of the East Bay Dinners, and is still with the East Bay Dinners Committee today. Through most of these years he has
served as the committee's treasurer, no small job considering that he must process checks from over a hundred attendees for eight dinners each year. Jack, along with his
wife Jo, also gives a friendly greeting at the door to each attendee, whether a "regular" or a newcomer.
To learn more about Jack's many Sierra Club efforts, see the Volunteer of the Month article about him way back in the October 1991
Yodeler. For
information on the next East Bay Dinner, on Thu., Sep. 22, see the Sep.-Oct. Yodeler.
The Michener Award commemorates the many years of volunteer service performed by the Micheners as editors of the Chapter Schedule (the predecessor of
the calendar in today's Yodeler and Chapter web site) and recognizes superior leadership by Chapter activity leaders.
Jack Sudall's continuing involvement for more than half a century makes him unique among the Chapter's volunteers, and worthy of the 2005 Michener Award!
