Protecting Muir Woods from too much loveMuir Woods National Monument is one of the most-loved and most-visited wild spots in the Bay Area, and it will be even more visited when the National Park Service implements a permanent shuttle service there. Along with lots of visitors, however, come certain problems and concerns. The National Park Service is carrying out a "Carrying Capacity Study", and we want to make sure that it really addresses the full range of potential visitor impacts and provides for enforceable mitigations as problems arise. A related visitor issue in the park has to do with helicopter overflights. The park needs an Air Tour Management Plan to guard against excessive disturbance.
