Southern Alameda County Group welcomes volunteers

The Sierra Club Southern Alameda County Group represents members in Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Hayward, Union City, Fremont, and Newark. We focus on promoting smart growth, protecting open space, supporting pro-environmental candidates for local office, and sponsoring local hikes. All our work is done by volunteers; the issues we address and the hikes we sponsor are those that you choose to work on.

Below are short descriptions of current Group projects. To help with any project, contact the listed leader. If readers have other projects to improve the environment, come to a Group ExComm meeting and share your project with us. We meet the fourth Wednesday of odd-numbered months, 7 - 9 pm at B Street (Chinese) Restaurant, 1034 B St. in Hayward (walking distance from Hayward BART station).
