Energize yourself to act for cleaner energy
Local cities and counties are taking the lead on stopping global warming.
WhatYouCanDo - This month's key action
In Marin and San Francisco Counties, active campaigns are already well under way for sustainable energy; for details, see articles elsewhere on this page.
Wherever you live, contact your City Council and county Board of Supervisors, and ask them to take action to stop global warming and reduce local air pollution.
Urge the city and the county to:
- become a Community Choice Aggregator;
- ask the California Energy Commission for all the energy-efficiency funds collected in their territory;
- join the Cities for Climate Protection campaign;
- use biodiesel fuel for their vehicles;
If they are not already familiar with these concepts, help educate them. (You can even give them copies of articles from this Yodeler.) For more information or if you
need help, feel free to contact conservation organizer
or call (510) 848-0800, ext. 316 or (510) 220-1122.
