Car Camping Section

What is car camping, you say? No, it doesn't mean you have to sleep in your car. It means you drive to the camping destination, where you either set up your tent (or sleep under the stars), or sleep in a cabin/lodge, depending upon the destination. Where allowed, some even bring their van or camper, for greater comfort. Most outings are three nights, with an occasional four-nighter for more distant campgrounds.

Our participants enjoy a variety of optional hiking activities, from easy to strenuous. Some trips are appropriate for families with children, but check with the leader before sending in a reservation request. Most trips include all meals.

For further information, see our trip listings on our website at: www.sfbay.sierraclub.org/carcamping

See the listing in this Yodeler's calendar for our "Fall colors at South Lake Tahoe" trip, Sep. 30 to Oct. 3.
