The following photographs show some of our leaders who volunteer their
time to ensure that our activity calendar is full each month.
Albert Chiu
Albert is a softball and hike leader who lives to lead wildflower hikes on
Mt. Diablo in the spring, beach hikes in Point Reyes in the summer and fall,
and hikes in the Redwood Park in the winter. Albert has a
background in accounting and currently serves as Treasurer on the Sierra
Singles Executive Committee.
Pam Hampton
Pam has done a terrific job as the SF Bay Chapter Sierra Singles
newsletter editor since 1997. Pam has also taught Salsa and Argentine tango
for the chapter since 1999. She is an Argentine tango addict, and sometimes
camping, backpacking, tennis and biking enthusiast. She also enjoys bridge,
Scrabble, and other games. Pam was born in Columbus, Ohio, and lives in
Oakland.
George Liu
George leads many types of events: sea kayaking, ski cabin trips,
whitewater rafting, museum visits, candle light tours of Fort Point, to name
a few. He has served as co-chair, secretary, treasurer, and Steering
Committee member. Even though he now lives in the part of the country known
for its airliners, coffee, rain, and software, he still leads a few trips
for the SF Bay Chapter each year. George can be reached by email at
geoyliu@war-is-hell.com.
Bob Solotar
Bob leads day hikes for Sierra Singles and for the SF Bay Chapter
Hiking Section; he enjoys leading these trips throughout the Bay Area, and
especially the East Bay and SF Peninsula. He has served on the Sierra
Singles Steering Committee and on the Hiking Section Steering Committee. He
is also a volunteer with the San Francisco Bay Chapter.
