Welcome to the RTS Web Site
The Club has a long and rich history dating back to the early 1950s
when boaters used canvas and home made fiberglass river boats from Club owned
molds to explore California rivers.
The Club has changed over the years and due to insurance regulations, no
longer owns its fiberglass molds or its instructional boats. We offer a great
deal to the boating community in the way of:
TRIPS:
The club sponsors both river and flat water trips throughout the year. These,
as well as other club's trips, are listed each month in our newsletter The
Paddler's News Bulletin (PNB). We welcome Sierra Club and non Sierra Club
members on these trips.
NEWSLETTER: The Paddler's News Bulletin is
published each month. The club does not have a membership fee. Instead, we
charge $14 per year for our newsletter. This newsletter includes interesting
trips from our club as wells as paddling clubs around the state. We include in
each issue upcoming trips, conservation articles, safety articles, trip
reports, upcoming races, and want/sell ads.
MEETINGS: Throughout the year meetings
are scheduled which often include entertainment and food.
SLALOM AND DOWNRIVER RACE: We hold a
yearly race in the first part of May on Cache Creek.
CONSERVATION: We have had a active
conservation program for over 30 years. The club continues to be active in
river conservation and access issues.
