Novato: Join the Marin Clean Energy plan!

Global Warming is the single most important environmental issue facing us today. It is up to all of us to do what we can as a community to reduce our carbon footprint. We really need to stop contributing to the problem and start working on eliminating pollutants in the air.

Luckily, Marin County has a bold vision to build a local clean energy economy. This program, Marin Clean Energy, is projected to provide 50% renewable energy in five years, while stabilizing electricity rates and creating local green jobs. The program gives voice to local values, local concerns and, most importantly, local control of our energy supply. Marin has a unique chance to become a world leader in sustainable living and challenge the rest of the country to follow suit.

Eight Marin cities and towns, along with the Marin Board of Supervisors, have voted to pursue Marin Clean Energy. However, the Novato city council has so far declined to participate. Unless Novato signs on to Marin Clean Energy before mid-June, most of Marin will be enjoying clean energy while the constituents in Novato will be left with the same old polluting power. Your elected officials need to hear from you - so write your letter today!
