Environmental Action Alert: Help Berkeley Go Solar. [Updated: 2/12/08]

Make Solar Energy a Reality for Berkeley!

While automobile emissions continue to rise, energy prices are rising even faster. It is absolutely critical we begin to build a clean energy economy. Economies are built from the ground up. That's why cities like Berkeley need to work locally to make clean, renewable energy a reality.

Berkeley now has the opportunity to support a smart, bold new strategy for local energy solutions called Community Choice Aggregation. It's one of the best ways build an economically and environmentally sustainable Bay Area. Community Choice gives voice to local values, local concerns and, more importantly, local control of our energy supply. Clean, local energy is critical for sustainable economies and clean, secure communities.

Showing that the public is serious about clean energy and the climate crisis is critical to getting Berkeley to take action on this vital issue. Your Mayor and City Council need to hear from you - so take a moment today to write a letter to Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates and the City Council.

Write Your Letter Today!

Dear Mayor Bates and Berkeley City Council,

Now is the time for Berkeley to champion clean energy. I ask you to give serious consideration to the Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) draft plans, soon to be brought for your review. It is an exciting opportunity to dramatically green our local energy supply. CCA is a promising new way forward for the city of Berkeley.

Thank You
