Carole Migden Wins Environmental Stewardship Award
California State Senator Carole Migden represents the 3rd District, which comprises the eastern half of the City and County of San Francisco, all of Marin County, and portions of Sonoma County, including the communities of Petaluma and Rohnert Park.
As both an Assemblymember and as Senator, Carole Migden has provided her constituents with outstanding environmental leadership with unswerving dedication to combating global warming.
Among Carole's accomplishments are:
- Creation of California's Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program, which enables local communities to create clean energy.
- Opposed aerial spraying for the Light Brown Apple Moth probram without an environmental review
- Authored the Clean Water Act, imposing tough fines on industrial polluters.
- Leadership in restoring San Francisco Bay wetlends
- Appropriations for preserving redwood forests
- Numerous legislation on environmental issues
