San Francisco Bay Chapter events and activities

The Sierra Club San Francisco Bay Chapter offers hundreds of ways to learn about environmental issues and have fun! Make new friends and learn about the Club through activities and outings, including hiking, backpacking, and ski touring. Come to a meeting and join a conservation subcommittee (Wilderness, Energy, Bay Protection, etc.) Members and non-members alike are welcome at all events.

The purpose of the Bay Chapter’s outings is to provide opportunities to experience wilderness and nature first-hand. We believe that bringing people to the wild places of the earth is the best way to educate them about how these places can offer us refuge from the stresses of everyday life and why it is important to protect these places. Our outings are designed to cultivate an appreciation of nature and the environment through outdoor exploration, education, sharing, and spiritual growth.
