The Sierra Club urges Brentwood voters to vote no on Measure F. The ballot measure, promoted primarily by out-of-town development companies, would expand Brentwood's voter-approved Urban Limit Line (ULL) to include 740 more acres south of Balfour Road and east of Deer Valley Road.

The measure would allow development of up to 1,300 homes and 35 acres of retail in the beautiful lands west of Brentwood.

Once a small farming town, Brentwood has seen its population more than double in the past decade, bringing increased traffic, overcrowded schools, and decreased property values, and stressing vital natural resources like water, agricultural lands, and open spaces. Dozens of other housing projects are already approved but not yet built; Brentwood's rural character hangs in the balance.

Proponents of Measure F, though, are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to confuse voters. Don't be confused. Vote no.
