San Francisco Group Charter Bus trips - your relaxed road to the sights of California
The Charter Bus Section of the San Francisco Group has announced its schedule of trips for 2005. To participate, make your checks payable to "SFRG Outings"
and send to:
Myra Forsythe
740 Leavenworth St., #31
San Francisco, CA 94109
(415) 613-8318
Please include a stamped, self addressed envelope for confirmation of receipt. There are no refunds. If you are unable to come and the trip is fully booked we may be
able to refer you to someone on the waiting list.
If weather or road conditions necessitate, substitute destinations will be selected.
Morning refreshments are served en route, and there will be a dinner stop (no host) in Monterey at the end of the day. Always bring lunch, liquids, and
comfortable hiking/walking shoes.
There are always two pick-up points in San Francisco:
- San Francisco Civic Center - outside Bill Graham/Civic Center Auditorium on Grove Street, between Polk and Larkin Streets;
- Stonestown - on 19th Avenue at Buckingham Way, at south end of shopping center.
Sat., May 14 - Monterey/Asilomar State
Park. Hike, relax, beachcomb, and enjoy colorful wildflowers while watching for sea otters, seals, birds, and
other wildlife along the way from the Asilomar State Beach and Conference Center through Pacific Grove to Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. Or just visit the Aquarium
and sightsee. Civic Center - 8 am, Stonestown - 8:15. Fare $30.
Sat., July 23 - Point Lobos State
Park. Hike, relax, and bring binoculars to enjoy the wildlife (birds, deer, sea otters , sea lions, etc.) Early dinner stop in
Monterey before return. Civic Center - 8 am, Stonestown 8:15 am. Fare $30.
Sat., Oct. 1 - Monterey/Asilomar State
Park. See May 14 listing for details - with perhaps a bit of fall foliage added.
If you don't receive your ticket(s) immediately, don't worry; you will receive it (them) prior to the trip as long as you include a stamped, self addressed envelope.
Myra may be on vacation, but you will receive a response as soon as she returns.
Please don't call after 10 pm or before 8 am (6:45 on morning of a trip). Trips to distant places, or those including a dinner stop, will get back to the city later than usual.
Even if you are a very experienced hiker it's best not to hike or explore alone, not only for your own safety but also to prevent unnecessarily inconveniencing
others if you get lost or injured. Listen carefully to information on bus pick-up points and return times. Ask if in doubt.
