Please join us for a stimulating evening of speakers and awards, with excellent food and wine at our Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, October 10, 2008 at the picturesque Spinnaker Restaurant in Sausalito.

No host cocktails begin at 6pm; the dinner, speaker and awards program begins at 7pm.

Sierra Club Marin Group is delighted to welcome our keynote speaker, Mary Nichols, the current Chairman of the California Air Resources Board. Ms. Nichols has devoted her entire career in public and private, not-for-profit service to advocating for the environment and public health. In addition to her work at the Air Board, she has held a number of positions, including: assistant administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Air and Radiation program under the Clinton Administration, Secretary for California's Resources Agency from 1999 to 2003, and Director of the University of California, Los Angeles Institute of the Environment.

Nichols was chosen to lead California’s efforts to reduce its greenhouse gases by 25 percent by 2020 under an anti-global warming law passed last year.

Master of ceremonies will be Dick Spotswood, Independent-Journal political columnist.

Ticket information: Advance reservations are required as this event is popular and usually sells out! Regular tickets are $70 per person - includes soup, choice of entrée, dessert, and one glass of wine with dinner.

Sponsor tickets are from $100 to $1,000 – multiple seating and special recognition for your generous support of our Group!

Champion: $1,000 reserves a table for eight, featured in the Program, and acknowledgement at the Banquet.
Steward: $500 reserves four tickets, recognition in the Program, and acknowledgement at the Banquet.
Guardian: $250 reserves two tickets, sponsor’s name in the Program.
Protector: $100 reserves one ticket and sponsor’s name in the Program.
