Keynote Speaker

Carl Pope, Sierra Club’s National Executive Director spoke about “Taking the Initiative – The Path to Environmental Renewal”.   Mr. Pope has served the organization in various capacities for roughly two decades, and was appointed to his current post in 1992.  Larry Fahn, who just completed his term as Sierra Club’s National President, introduced Carl Pope.

Awardees Honored:

RESOURCE CONSERVATION AWARD: Jean Berensmeier, long time Marin Environmental leader, educator and activist.

HANNAH CREIGHTON ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AWARD: Carlos Porrata, recently retired California State Park Ranger with a long time role of instilling environmental stewardship into educational activities.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION: Nancy Skinner, leader of Sierra Club Regional hikes for over 25 years, who has documented and shared the history and lore of Mt. Tamalpais to multitudes of people.


Emcee: Dick Spotswood, Marin Political Columnist

Menu: Tomato Bisque soup, choice of Chicken Picante with lemon and capers or Petrale Sole with macadamia nut crust, plus ice cream coffee and a glass of wine.
