Canine hikers should also bring leashes, litter bags, and water for their dogs.

Roy's Redwoods. Largest stand outside Muir Woods. Second growth redwoods, large meadow and hillside trail with bridges. 3 miles. Hike ends 4:30 pm. Meet: 1 pm at Fairfax (opposite Fairfax Theatre).

Jun 7 Sat Mini hike
Mission Bay tour. Once part of San Francisco Bay, this was filled in and used as a railroad yard. Mission Bay is now being rebuilt as a biotech research center, a new UCSF hospital and a new residential neighborhood. Meet: 1 pm in the plaza at 4th and King Streets, next to the Caltrain station in San Francisco.

Alpine Lake. A mini-hike on the Kent Trail alongside Alpine Lake to a lakeside lunch site. Back by 2 pm. Meet: 10:30 at Fairfax Parkade (across from Fairfax Theater). Cost: $7 MMWD entrance fee/annual pass.
